13 Jul DRB Development Solutions Provides Project Management Services for Curio Collection by Hilton at Historic Chicago Navy Pier

Atlanta, GA – With the July 11, 2018 ground breaking, the Curio Hotel is under way.  Located at the eastern end of the historic Chicago Navy Pier, the 222-room hotel and a 30,000-square-foot rooftop bar is being physically being constructed over Lake Michigan.  The completed project will offer sweeping views of the lake from all rooms and the bar.  DRB Development Solutions has been retained as the project manager for this notable project by Maverick Hotels and Restaurants, a Chicago-based hotel management firm and ACRON US a real estate investment firm.  KOO, LLC provided the unique design that will be constructed by Chicago based McHugh Construction.  The rooftop bar will open this Fall, with the hotel following in March 2020.

The 3,300-foot-long Navy Pier, which opened to the public in 1916, is Chicago’s number one tourist attraction.  Building on a structure that is 102 years old will present some unique challenges.  For example, the hotel cannot add any additional weight to the pier’s foundations.
