DUNWOODY’S DEMOGRAPHICS DEPICT AN ECONOMIC ENGINE

The city of Dunwoody is blessed with unique demographics.

Each day more than 100,000 people come to our city to work and shop. Colliers International data indicates that there are over

8 million square feet of office space and more than 4.3 million square feet of retail space within our city.

These numbers are huge – placing the city of Dunwoody as the third largest concentration of office space of any city in Georgia.

In fact, our office space concentration places us among the top 10 cities in the southeast. As a Chamber of Commerce, we are very aware of our impact on the region and the state. Clearly the office and retail businesses are the economic engine for the city of Dunwoody.

Our 2012 programs have been designed around what we call the three pillars:

1 – Focus on members in such a way that they want to be part of the Chamber of Commerce.

  • Reach into member and non-member organizations at all levels, conveying the value of the chamber.
  • Create networking opportunities for business contacts within and outside the city.
  • Provide training for our member’s staff through multiple forums.
  • Leadership development — create Leadership Dunwoody focused on local, state and national objectives.

2 – Focus on Economic Development

  • Work alongside of the Perimeter Community Improvement Districts and the Sandy Springs/Perimeter Chamber of Commerce to attract businesses to our community, bringing businesses and development to our city.

3 – Focus on Transportation Issues

  • Support and help solve issues of our members and their staff being able to get to their businesses in Dunwoody and have a quick and efficient exit when they return home.
  • Support local transportation and regional transportation initiatives.

The Dunwoody Chamber is organizing its programs and committees around these three pillars. We are looking for business partners who share in our vision and want to play a role as we continue to grow our business community and city.
