Forensic Construction Consultant

Mr. Boyken serves as a forensic construction consultant providing expert witness testimony, cost analysis, construction claims analysis and document review for construction dispute resolution involving damage calculations, delay analysis, resolution of unresolved change orders, defective workmanship and related damages.

Since 1970, Mr. Boyken has been part of the construction and development industry.  His range of projects include local and international resorts, commercial, airports, infrastructure programs, and higher education projects in the United States, the Caribbean, Latin America, and the United Kingdom.  He holds a M.B.A. from Auburn University and is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, and a Fellow and Certified Cost Consultant with the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering.  His professional memberships include the Urban Land Institute, the American Society of Professional Estimators, the American Institute of Constructors, the American Society for Testing and Materials International, the American Arbitration Association, the American Institute of Architects, and the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering.

Mr. Boyken has provided services as a mediator, arbitrator and expert witness.  In the 1980’s, Mr. Boyken was first called upon to provide an expert opinion as part of a legal forum. Since that time he has developed a reputation within the development and construction industry for his expertise in the preparation and evaluation of construction claims, preparation of damage claims, delay analysis, contractor means and methods, forensic cost analysis, analysis of construction defects and costs to correct, construction document review and analysis, and expert witness testimony.  Additionally, he has led forensic teams to determine problem causes, provided change order analysis and cost to complete settlement negotiation, and bid document evaluation.

Accomplishments include projects such as: Las Vegas Fontainebleau Hotel and Casino; the Las Vegas Venetian Hotel and Casino; The Bay Resort, Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands; Bio-Containment Facility University of Georgia, Athens, GA; to name a few.
